First time to ski in Telluride, booked site unseen. Great price for single king. Arrived, location at best one block from the main Gondola, easy walk. Close to restaurants, ski rental, and spa. The room was a little plain but comfortable. The misses loved the Aveda products in the bathroom, I liked the flat screen TV on the wall. Friday and Saturday evenings, small bar on third floor, nice guy named Rico there for like 20 years, has a english bulldog with him the whole town knows. Nice relaxing conversation. The pool was small, no laps there but there is an indoor hot tub and steam room...you do have to walk outside about 20 feet under an awning to get to it...but it was no big deal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will say again, for the money, great place. If I am ever back in Telluride, this will be my place to stay again.
Loved loved loved this place. This is a great place, location is awesome. You have the market, liquor store, gondola and restaurants barely 2 minutes walk away. Very nice kitchen setup if you want to stay in. Highly recommended
I have been going to Telluride since 1977, mostly to ski, and have stayed in several different establishments. Since discovering the Ice House, I have to say it is simply the very nicest possible place I've stayed in, possibly anywhere, and so reasonably priced. From the bar with its complimentary breakfast and after-ski spread of delicious offerings, to its caring staff, to its very comfortable rooms decorated with art from the Southwest and beautiful, comfortable furniture, as well as its open lounge areas -- I have never felt so relaxed and cared for in a hotel, anywhere, and I've traveled far and wide.
