Had a great time on a hunt with these guys. Put us on Elk the first day and was successful! Did some fishing as well and hooked some awesome fish. First class out fit all the way. Looking forward to some more future trips.
Booked a rafting trip with these guys on the phone before we got to Telluride. great customer service. The number in our group changed the day before, but they were very accommodating with the change. They picked us up at our rent house. Clean van. Our driver was really nice and pointed out stuff and gave us some historical facts on the way to the river. The guides on the rafts were great. emphasized safety. We had a blast on the river even though the water was down. they had snacks for us at the end. The van driver was taking photos of us from the shore on the way down the river, so I thought for sure that they would try to sell us the photos. No - they where free and he downloaded them to my daughter's phone. that was a surprise. All the staff was very professional. Seem like guys that really love what they do and love Telluride. We highly recommend Telluride Outside.
We just returned from a family trip to Telluride. There are 13 of us in the family, ranging from 2 1/2 years to 68! We did horseback riding, fly fishing, river rafting, 4 X 4ing. Telluride Outside picked us all up at our home, drove us to our adventures, provided all the equipment, expertise, and highlights and brought us all back safely. I highly recommend them. They are friendly, knowledgable, on time, prepared and a plus to any trip.
So, to the driver of rig #3, sorry to ask you to back up 200 feet and thanks for the sermon. I won't be recommending your services..... not that you care about a good public image. You made that clear out on the trail.
I walked in the shop today and asked a tall lanky kid what the details were for my fly fishing trip the following day ... his response "dude I don't have any idea who you are." Now mind you this was the SAME guy who helped me the day before. Customer service was better in Kamchatka, Russia and they spoke little English. The lack of staff knowledge re: fly fishing may be due to all of the other activities they run ... rafting, 4x4 tours, etc. Fly fishing guys tend to expect to talk to knowledgeable staff ... this hasn't been my experience. I'll update at the end of the week.
I met three Telluride Outside tour rigs on Imogene Pass this afternoon. The first two trucks had friendly guides in them and when we met there was a wide spot in the shelf road that we were able to easily let each other by. The first driver and I chit chatted while waiting for rig #2 to catch up and get by. No worries. A little further down the trail, we meet rig #3 in a very narrow stretch. I am in a Rubicon towing an offroad trailer coming down hill. I fully understand trail courtesy says uphill has right of way and I can back my rig as far as necessary, however, a pickup truck can certainly back up easier than I can and, you know maybe as a business operating on public roads your driver shouldn't get preachy with me about "the rules of the road" and "the trouble with trailers." Cooperation should be the sermon, especially if you're the professional.
